The PCME keeps this in mind and has different tiers of knowledge levels that are required to complete the certification.

Requirements to become PCME Certified
•Complete and pass Mobile Level 1 - Handheld Forensics or its approved equivalent**.
•Complete and pass Mobile Level 2 - Advanced Hybrid Devices & Data Carving.
•Complete and pass Mobile Level 3 - Cellular/GPS Signal Analysis.
•Complete and pass a written examination with a proctor present.
•Complete and pass four practical applications of associated mobile devices.
•Six months of practical experience with devices that can be verified through written documents from a supervisor or equivalent.
•Recertification* required every 2 years from date of completion.
•Certification fee of  to renew every two years.
•All courses and tests must be passed at 85%.
