About IMAGE
THIS PROGRAM IS A DOS APPLICATION THAT WILL NOT FUNCTION IN WINDOWS
IMAGE is a DOS application that utilizes internally implemented algorithms which are
identical to those used in ZIP compatible archives. If desired, non-compressed (flat) images may also be generated to facilitate examination of the image file itself.
IMAGE supports cyclic imaging and restoration to automate the processing of large numbers of diskettes. The program also provides the ability to attach descriptive information to each image file. Technical and descriptive information associated with each file may be displayed without having to actually restore the image.
IMAGE maintains an MD5 checksum of each image file it creates. This checksum compared during restoration to ensure that no degradation or corruption of the image file has occurred.
IMAGE will generate self-restoring image executables for distribution and usage without the utility itself.
IMAGE is very simple to use. Command line parameters are minimal and very intuitive.
