Belkasoft Evidence Center Installation Instructions
Recommended hardware
If you plan to work with huge cases, make sure you choose the right hardware:
•The more RAM, the better. We would recommend you that you have not less than 4Gb of RAM
•The faster CPU, the better. A multi-core processor or a multi-processor machine is recommended
•A dedicated SSD drive is preferred for SQL Server (or, at least, a dedicated usual physical drive)
Installing database
The product uses Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 Database to store information. Please follow the guidelines for SQL Server installation:
•It is recommended to have a separate physical drive solely for Microsoft SQL Server. Preferably, this should be an SSD drive
•You should have Windows Installer 4.5 installed
•You can install Microsoft SQL Server Express 2008 R2 manually using the setup file from Microsoft site. In this case you should skip SQL Server installation in the product installation wizard using the option "Skip installation (choose if you already have MS SQL Server 2008 R2 installed)". Please, note, that you will also need to install Microsoft SMO, Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client.
•Alternatively, you can let the product install SQL Server Express for you. There are two options for you to choose from. The first one is to let the product download and install SQL Server for you using the option "Download and install MS SQL Server" of the setup wizard. This option is useful if your target computer is connected to the Internet. Use the other option if your computer is not connected to the Internet: Download

and put them near Belkasoft Evidence Center setup file. When the setup wizard asks you how to install the database, select the option "Install MS SQL Server using previously downloaded installation file"
•Although the product uses free Microsoft SQL Server Express 2008 by default, please, note that it allows the maximum of 10Gb database size. Your case can easily exceed this size if you are working with big Outlook mailboxes. In this case it is recommended to use Standard or Enterprise versions of Microsoft SQL Server 2008.
•If you are going to use already installed SQL Server database for Belkasoft Evidence Center Enterprise, please make sure Mixed Authentication is switched on and TCP/IP protocol is enabled.
